Karen Ash, Managing Director

As Managing Director, Karen Ash, is responsible for the overall strategy,
operations, and planning direction of 5 S
TAR PLAN, INC.  She is very involved
with each client and is one of the company's primary meeting planners.

Karen has over 2
1 years of hotel/resort sales and meeting planning experience.  
She began her career as a sales manager, selling meeting space and hotel services
to the corporate market.  She worked her way to the role of Director of Sales and
Marketing and managed a staff of 11 employees in sales, catering and hotel
reservations.  Karen has assisted in the logistical planning of nearly a thousand
meetings over the course of her career.  She left the hotel industry in 2003 to begin
her own consulting and freelance meeting planning firm.  It was then that she found
her niche in pharmaceutical meetings. Karen took her sales, planning, and
consulting experience and founded 5 S
TAR PLAN, INC. specializing in advisory board,
speaker training, sales training, and investigator meetings.

Karen received her degree from the University of South Carolina in Art and Design,
and brings that creative direction to her role as well as her vast knowledge and
experience of both the hotel and meeting industries.

Vicki Foley

As Lead On-site Coordinator (Domestic), Vicki Foley is responsible for overseeing
the overall on-site logistics at any meeting within the United States.  She is also
responsible for the management of all on-site staff which may be working the event.
Vicki is highly organized and studied Hotel Restaurant Management while at St. Leo
University.  
Sarah Jones

Based in London, Sarah Jones is Lead On-Site Coordinator (International) for
non-domestic meetings.  

Sarah has worked in the hotel industry since 1993 with well known brands such as
Hilton, Starwood and Millennium & Copthorne.  Her experience is in Operations with
a focus on Revenue and Reservations Management.  More recently she has led
Regional Revenue Projects implementing standards and systems for hotels in the
European Region.  Her international experience and understanding was vital in the
smooth running of some of our European meetings for the past three years.  Sarah
is also utilized for her wealth of knowledge in budget setting and strategy
development to provide the best protection and rates for our clientele.

Sarah graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in Hospitality
Management with a concentration on Hotel Operations.  She has worked in
Northern and Southern California, Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina before
relocating to London.
